A walking tour of the town!

Today Becca and I went for a walk about Binghamton. It was a little chilly, but the sun was bright and warm. Clad in our scarfs and sweaters we set out down the road and across the river. This is the view upriver from the Exchange St Bridge. It was rainy this week, so the river is moving fast! Take note of the smokestack above the Crowley Plant on the right shore. Bricktastic!

Next we walked down to the river bank by the small dam. We skipped stones and looked up at the exchange street bridge. It was beautiful, but there was goose poop everywhere and it was too bright! You could see the back side of the crowley factory very well, and we also sneaked a peak of our house from the shore! It's the brown one! Look at the beautiful fall foliage!

After that, we headed to downtown. We wound our way through the buildings, past the Court Building with it's copper dome and statue of a naked guy. Then we walked down washington st, past the SUNY Downtown Center. Becca has to plan an event there for her job. OH BOY!

We continued back towards the river. Here is the Washington Street Bridge, a bridge devoted entirely to pedestrians and bicycles! The stature in front is a Spanish-American war memorial. But before we crossed, we walked down around the little park in between the confluence of the Susquehanna and Chenango Rivers. Behold!
Last, we saw this huge drainage pipe on the bank of the Susquehanna. I thought it was where the river serpent lived. Becca said "DANG that is a huge hole!" She wondered where it went. INTRIGUING.
